The Designerly Aim

I am a designer turned teacher, looking to excite pupils, engage and bring the real context of design from the outside world into the classroom.

Designerly is a place for design teachers in education to help teach ‘design’ in an educational context through sharing of resources, articles, ideas and inspiration.

Designerly thinking requires the exploration of problems, situations, scenarios and the interrogation of issues, happenings, people, products and surroundings. It raises questions and ignites the sparks of curiosity that instigate activity. Allowing space for this type of thinking enables learners to explore influences from the past, scrutinise the present and create the future.

Please take a look around the site. There is plenty to read and download to help reduce some of that planning time.
